Design Discovery Ltd. has provided award winning services to clients for over 20 years. The company is owned and operated by Dee Schlagel who moved from the Philadelphia area to Sycamore, Illinois 12 years ago. While in Philadelphia, Design Discovery provided period props, a unique location scouting service, professional set styling, a set construction service and a design service for commercial and residential clients. Commercial clients included The Franklin Mint, QVC, Time-Life, Rodale Press, Lenox, Honda, Peterbilt Trucks, KYW-TV, Casey's Restaurants and Macy's to name a few. A list of residential clients can be provided upon your request.

Dee's creativity in set styling and professional propping led her to work on the WCAU-TV Philadelphia production of "The Petrified Forest" starring E.G. Marshall and Jack Klugman. This project won an Emmy for the authentic props and set design. Design Discovery also worked on the set of the Randall Cunningham TV show and The Danny Devito film "War of the Roses."

Design Discovery's work has appeared in several books and magazines. Saddle Ridge Farm, Dee's home in Sycamore, has been the location site for photo shoots including Country Home and Garden, Spiegels and The Limited.
